Privacy Policy

Seekstone is an open-source project, and this page is meant to be read, not skimmed. The short version: the only personal data we collect is the email address you give us to receive release updates — and you can delete it any time.

Last updated June 16, 2026

What we collect

Almost nothing.

  • Email address Only if you subscribe to release updates. We never ask for it anywhere else, and the site has no accounts or logins.
  • Request logs Our host (Vercel) keeps standard, short-lived server logs — IP and user-agent — to serve the site and block abuse. We don't build profiles from them.
  • Nothing else No advertising IDs, no fingerprinting, no third-party trackers, and we never sell or rent any of it.
Email subscriptions

The list, in full.

What it's for. If you subscribe, we use your email address for one thing: occasional release notes and the rare deep dive — roughly once a month, never more. No drip sequences, no "we miss you" reactivation, no sponsored sends.

Double opt-in. After you submit the form we send a confirmation email; you're only added once you click the link in it. There are no pre-checked boxes, and your address goes nowhere until you confirm.

Who processes it. Our newsletter runs on Buttondown, a privacy-focused email provider that stores the list and handles sending and unsubscribes on our behalf. Their commitments as a data processor are spelled out in their Data Processing Agreement. We turn off open-tracking pixels, so we don't see whether you opened an email.

How long we keep it. Until you unsubscribe. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer — no login, no reason required — and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Analytics

Counts, not people.

We measure aggregate traffic — how many people visit which pages — to know what's useful. We use Vercel Web Analytics, and may also use Plausible, both chosen because they are cookieless and don't track you across other sites.

There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site profiles, and nothing that follows you once you leave. This is page-level counting, not surveillance — which is why the site shows no cookie banner: there are no tracking cookies to consent to.

Fonts & third parties

A short list of who's involved.

Fonts are self-hosted from our own server — they are not loaded from the Google Fonts CDN, so loading the site doesn't share your IP with Google.

The complete set of third parties that can touch your data is small: Vercel (hosting and analytics) and Buttondown (the email list, only if you subscribe). That's it.

Your rights

Your data is yours.

You can ask us to show you the data we hold (your email address), export it, or delete it outright. The fastest path to deletion is the unsubscribe link in any email — it removes you from the list immediately. For anything else, or if you're in a region with formal data-protection rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), email privacy@seekstone.dev and we'll handle it.
